An Innovative approach by Ruzan to Professional Development


In today’s competitive world the only way to lead is through the path of creativity and innovation. Innovation just does not mean a product. Innovation can be for systems, functions, and processes.

In the famous book "In Search of Excellence" that there is no dearth of creativity. Yes there is dearth of innovation. The difference between creativity and innovation as put in by the author is that “creativity is thinking up new tings whilst innovation is doing new things”

When other cos. would invest in lakhs for a solution Ruzan would see that she would be able to find solution of problems with minimum costs involved. This not only helped her co. to survive in the cut throat competition but also instated a sense of confidence and overall growth in her team members.

She would motivate her team to bring solutions to problems using innovative and unique techniques thus helping them in there personal and professional development.

She firmly believes in making all-rounder or people who can do multi-tasking. She says that today is the era where if one can do multiple things then that would give competitive edge to there careers.

If you talk about how to extend the last mile connectivity which is ideally just till 100 mts to 10 kms then Ruzan along with her team showed how it can be practically done.

Another e.g. is that when the whole industry said that it is not possible to control bandwidth Ruzan along with her team showed it to them that it is possible.

When the whole marketing team said that it is not possible to sell data transfer schemes Ruzan proved it to them that this is the best scheme which would help the market to grow and give a leadership position to the co.

Surely all these were possible only becos of different innovative approaches she used towards solving each problems.

Her work delegation is not limited to the educational qualification of the person. You would be surprised even her peons are not just restricted to do the normal chores of tea and water serving or going out to collect cheques they are also trained how to do testing of hubs and switches. Her electrician, wireman and helpers are even taught how to operate computer and send mails. She sees to it that all the work force in her co. gives in there best and slowly there level of delivering is increased which at a point of time gives them total job satisfaction and a sense of achievement, boosts there self esteem and confidence and in turn increase the productivity of the co.

Ruzan is a firm believer that you have to prove yourselves daily and to do so one requires to approach life creatively and innovatively. The mantra in her office is Out-of-the-box thinking. Not to limit oneself by theoretical dictums.

In her co. every individual is asked to spend approx 10% of there time in thinking how a process/system/product/approach can be further bettered. Weekly team meetings and monthly co. meetings also revolve around personal and professional development only.
